Welcome to the web site of Rou Tien Men Chi Gung.
Everybody asks “What is Chi?” or “What does Chi Gung” mean?
Chi is energy which floats through the inner pathways inside our body and reflects in the energy field which is known as the aura. We all know it. Every day, we all feel its fluctuating level and we often talk about it. We receive our initial Chi from the body of our mother when we are born. During our lifetime, we receive Chi from the air by breathing as something very pure and delicate. The amount of Chi in our body determines the length and quality of our life. Our organs cannot function without it. The Chinese call Chi the nutrition for the body. However, we gradually lose out Chi because of stress, emotions, fears and harmful substances from the environment. Therefore, it is important to take good care of it and increase its level.
Chi Gung (energy work) is a slow exercise based on simple movements coordinated with correct breathing. Each individual movements has its specific meaning and they are connected into sequences of repeated motions and positions of various lengths. Chi Gung is based on the five-element theory and the knowledge of the Yin and Yang energies. Chi Gung works on the body from both the outside and inside and improves brain activity.
Compared to yoga, Chi Gung is simpler and easier to master at any age and in any physical condition. Chi Gung exercises are easier to remember than, for example, tai chi exercises.
